Agnieszka loves her valley home, her quiet village, the forests and the bright shining river. But the corrupted Wood stands on the border, full of malevolent power, and its shadow lies over her life.
Her people rely on the cold, driven wizard known only as the Dragon to keep its powers at bay. But he demands a terrible price for his help: one young woman handed over to serve him for ten years, a fate almost as terrible as falling to the Wood.

My thoughts:
I really do not know how to discuss this book. It is a whimsical fairytale sort of way, very fast paced (sometimes too fast) with a lot of plot turns and magic. That is basically it. I cannot remember a single thing about it after a month, apart from the fact that love interest felt a bit wrong - 100 year old wizard (looking young though) and 17 or so year old girl...Yes... Strange. The rest of the book is just ok, fast, captivating and quite forgettable. I would probably try other books from the author to see if there is any chance to like her.
