Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb Nance at Readerbuzz. Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together-at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones-and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book. See below for how to join the Salon.
Something new
I did not like participating in Reading Rush 2019 readalong, but there was so much fuss about it, so I wanted to try. When it is too much information and community involvement it is not so good for reading. I was checking the site and news, and watch my favourite booktubers, then I was checking challenges and was upset that I cannot produce such nice content and photos. It is not what I search in reading challenges. So I guess next year I will not bother. I did finish a couple of books though, but I did not post too much on the blog, unfortunately.

Newcomers on my Shelf
I am not buying or taking any book this summer, in order to reduce my physical TBR)
Reading Rush wasn’t for me either, but at least you had a go :)
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather improves
Wishing you a great reading week
I like best the readathons where you have lots of options to participate in the social aspects. I have never joined in on Reading Rush. I am sorry you did not enjoy it. There is a Reverse Readathon coming up in early August that should be fun.
ReplyDeleteYou have certainly read some great books. I've never read Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott. I wonder if it is as good as Little Women.
I hope you have a great week!
We've had a couple of thunderstorms here in the UK too with more forecast for next week. Luckily our were during the night last week and I managed to get back to sleep after watching part of the fantastic light show for a while.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely week and enjoy your reads. Here's my Sunday Post

We had the strangest weather this week! We have crazy hot temperatures for quite a few days then super humid and overcast days and overnight during the heatwave we had a spectacular thunder storm but the rain was warm! It was all just weird.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got some reading in this week. Blogging often drops off in the summer, you'll get back into things before long.
We had a lot of thunderstorms where we were at too. I never like it when we have too many thunderstorms.
ReplyDeleteI never tried the Reading Rush readathon, but it doesn't sound like much fun. I rather do the Bout of Books readathon because at least they give you more time to read books.
Hope you have a great week!
Here’s my Sunday Post!

I don't participate in readathons. They all seem too stressful. My weekly update
ReplyDeleteI feel that way about readathons too sometimes. I get excited for all the extras, but in the end, I don't do enough reading!
ReplyDeleteYou can send some storms my way. Our monsoons have been late.
Oh, gosh, three days in a row of thunderstorms? That's bonkers. (I can't believe I just said bonkers. ANYWAYS.) Also, I don't think readathons or readalongs are for me in general. I always am like yes, I'm doing it, and then I just... don't.
