Outside the Blog
The good news is that TV series Shetland (season 5) will be completed within a month and Happy! (season 2) will start at the end of the month. This Saturday I finished the last episode of 8 season of Death in Paradise and I hope there is not going to be a continuation. It started to be a bit tiresome. Though I enjoyed the views and sunny weather on the screen while it is snowing outside, but they change the cast again and I do not have a heart for newcomers)).I have started Middle Grade March and reading mostly children's book. After the one I have read on Friday I decided not to review them, as I do not know how. Mostly, I do not like the simplicity of the language and the plot is always predictable (which is normal), and if I am going to go into details apart from "like" or "dislike" I am not sure I can judge it not as an adult, which is not fair.

Newcomers on my Shelf
I am still waiting for two books to arrive. Hopefully, I will feature them in my next Sunday Post.
I tried getting into Death in Paradise, but when they changed the cast in the second season, I just couldn't get into it. Hope you have a great week!

Yes the first change was kind of drastic. I could not get into the main character for some time.
DeleteIt's hard reviewing kids books. I try and look at them through the lens of my kiddo and then just stick to facts. Did it appeal to you as an adult? Can you see why a child would enjoy it? Problematic themes? Language too simple/advanced for intended audience?
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that when I was a child I did not read much horror or fantasy, mostly adventures, so now I cannot even imagine my reaction to it.
DeleteYou have a lot of reviews scheduled this week and I am awed at your reading speed. Have a great week ahead.

These are all debts from last year)))
DeleteOoh Shetland! I think I've only watched through series 3? So I have some catching up to do when netflix gets the new one.
ReplyDeleteI'm not always a fan either when a show's cast changes.
I really enjoy the scenery, that is why I am up to date))
DeleteReviewing kids’ books as an adult is always a challenge. Some kids’ books are really good, though. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It is a challenge unfortunately.
DeleteWHat a great week you had! Oh that reminds me, I need to review Holly Black's The Cruel Prince! Hope you enjoyed it. I found it good but not perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteI was not blown away by it))
DeleteYou're keeping your blog very busy. I can't fit in tv these days. I just have too many things I want to read. I don't think I could review kids books other than ones I read and loved. Hope this week is going well. Anne - Books of My Heart
ReplyDeleteThanks you. I hope you will find some time for TV and movies - it is a good change of activity))
DeleteHmm, I need to see what Shetland is. I live under a rock. LOL
ReplyDeleteNot at all, I also found it reviewed on someone's blog))
