Blurb:
When novelist Owen
Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike.
As Strike investigates, it becomes clear
that there is more to Quine's disappearance than his wife realizes. The
novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous
pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows.
When Quine is found brutally
murdered under bizarre circumstances, it becomes a race against time to
understand the motivation of a ruthless killer, a killer unlike any
Strike has encountered before...
My thoughts:
It
was okay, not that dull and tedious as the first book. The characters
are quite well drawn and unique, but the writing does not sit well with
me, I get frustrated really fast. I cannot say that I enjoyed the book,
though I read it fast. It is a strange fact: I like the characters but I
do not like the book.
It's too bad her plotting doesn't equal her characters.
ReplyDeleteThe plotting is actually ok, but the execution is boring)
